summertime does computer work for you, which means it sees what you are working on. This page says plainly what stays on your Mac, what leaves it, who sees it, and why. No part of it is written to be skimmed past.
summertime is made by A2 Squared, LLC, 533 East Girard Avenue, STE 27075, Philadelphia, PA 19125. Questions go to support@trysummertime.com.
The short version
- Your conversations and your browsing stay on your Mac.
- To do a task, summertime sends pictures of the page it is working on, and the text of that page, to an AI provider. That is the part that leaves your machine.
- We keep your account details and a record of what each task cost, so we can bill you and show you your usage. We do not keep the pages themselves.
- We do not sell your data, and nothing of yours is used to train AI models.
What stays on your Mac
- Your conversations. Chats and routines are saved on your computer, not on our servers.
- Your browsing. summertime has its own browser. History, cookies and sessions live in a profile on your Mac.
- Logins you bring over. If you import your Chrome logins, macOS asks for your password first, and the result is copied into summertime's own browser profile on your Mac. Those logins are never sent to us.
- Files you attach. Read from your disk when a task needs them.
What leaves your Mac, and why
An assistant that works a website has to be able to see it. When summertime is doing a task, it sends the following to an AI provider so the model can decide what to do next:
- What you asked for.
- Pictures of the page in summertime's browser pane.
- The text of that page.
This means that whatever is on screen in that pane while a task is running can be sent, including content inside accounts you are signed in to. If something should not leave your machine, do not run a task on the page showing it. summertime only looks while it is working on something you asked for; it does not watch your other windows, your other browser, or your Mac generally.
We pass these requests through our own server so that our AI provider key is never in the app, and so we can count what a task cost. We do not store the pictures or the page text.
What we keep
- Your account. Name, email and profile picture, from however you signed in. Held by our sign in provider.
- Usage records. For each request: the model used, the cost, and when. This is how your allowance and your bill are worked out. It does not include what you asked or what the page said.
- Subscription state. Which plan you are on, whether it is active, and when it renews.
Who else is involved
These companies process some of your data so that summertime can work:
- Clerk — signing in and your account.
- Convex — our server, usage records and subscription state.
- Stripe — payments. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us.
- OpenRouter, and through it the model providers it routes to, currently including OpenAI, xAI, Groq and Meta — running the AI that decides what to do.
- Vercel — hosting this site and the account pages.
If you use voice mode, what you say is streamed to xAI to be understood, and only while voice mode is open.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
- We do not use your conversations or your pages to train AI models, and we ask the same of our providers.
- We do not read your conversations. They are not on our servers to read.
Keeping and deleting
Usage records are kept while your account exists and for as long afterwards as we need them for tax and accounting. Everything on your Mac is yours to delete: clearing a chat removes it, and Clear browsing data in the browser menu wipes the browser profile, including any logins you imported.
To close your account and have what we hold deleted, write to support@trysummertime.com and we will do it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or ask for a copy. Write to us and we will help, at no charge. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
summertime is not for people under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If we change this, we will change the date at the top, and if the change is significant we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
